West Lancashire Mark does it again

8th December 2013

Following on from the great success of the Mark Fun Day, held on a glorious sunny summer day back in July, the Province put on another outstanding event, this time a Children’s Christmas party at Leyland Masonic Hall.
Lynne and Peter Dressed for the part
On a dull wet Sunday afternoon and the Christmas shopping on hold, 89 children and over 100 adults, including parents, grandparents and even great grandparents enjoyed an afternoon of fun, games and entertainment before pulling Christmas crackers and putting on party hats. The children tucked into a light buffet meal followed by the usual children’s favourite, Ice-cream.

More entertainment followed, then the highlight of the afternoon, as Santa and his helper suddenly appeared in his grotto tucked away in a quiet corner of the hall. Each and every child received a gift and the joy on their faces was a pleasure to behold.
Christmas Party - Here we go -
This type of event takes a lot of organising and led by our Provincial Grand Master, Peter and his wife Lynn, the party went off a treat. He was supported by his Deputy Keith Beardmore and his two Assistants, Michael Clarke and Ian Nairn and several other senior officers of the Province.
Christmas Party, Everbody looking on
Numerous volunteers helped on the day and Paul Snape was like the Scarlet Pimpernel, ‘we seek him here, we seek him there’ as he kept dashing here and there to keep things running smoothly, not an easy task with so many children running around. David and Liz Bell very ably manned the reception and others to name amongst the organisers are Ian Nairn, Stuart Cowburn, Neil Ward and Geoff Lee. Apologies to anyone we’ve missed.
Lets get ready for the next game

The Province would like to thank all the staff at Leyland Masonic Hall for their help and support on the day and to all the volunteers, for making the party a great success.

The Mark degree is known as the ‘Friendly Degree’ and although we say in the Craft “...to please each other and unite in the grand design of being happy and communicating happiness…” it is in the Mark Degree that we put this into practice and ensure that those words really mean something to all our members and their families.
